***Breaking News!!!!!

It's offical! Kara is pregnant! We have known for a few weeks already and wanted to make sure all is good before we announced the news. It is definitely an exciting time and will soon to be busy year.

As of now, we are expecting November time frame.  Which should be the time the house could be done. No time to worry about that though.  I want to say thanks for all the prayers and support for myself and my family.

Groundbreaking ceremony!

Well the house process is moving along fast. June 7th will be our groundbreaking ceremony at our property.  For more info, RSVP, or if you can help; go to https://hfotusa.org/gibson . It's so exciting to see our property and hard to imagine that soon we will be home.
Also during this time, I will be off earning my sport pilot licence. I was one of the few who was awarded a flight scholarship with ableflight.  I can't wait to get in the air! Here is the link http://ableflight.org/featured-posts/2014-scholarships-awarded . Overall this is going to be a busy year!

Sun Valley

Wow! I had a great time here in Idaho. I finally got to do my skiing for the year. I attached some photos of me on a bi-ski and I will need the weekend to work on the GoPro videos. Look for those on Sunday. I'm glad I was able to link up with family and friends.

Another busy week!

Well after a nice slow week, I fly out for Sun Valley, Idaho tomorrow to do some skiing. I've been really looking forward to this trip! Going to break out the GoPro and get some runs recorded for youtube. Only thing that sucks is I get to catch 3 flights tomorrow. ... yay.

So around last week I learned about a great opportunity through a group called ableflight. Basically it's a scholarship for people who are disabled and want to learn to fly. Check out their website here: www.ableflight.org . I did submit an application, so hopefully I'll be chosen for this summer's flight training

Army Marathon

Well, it was a long trip but I'm finally back from Texas. The drive down went great.  The actual race was great also, except that the temperature dropped to 30 degrees, really windy, and it was raining. I think the turnout was around 1000 so it was a small event, but overall fun. I came in at 1hr52min,  a personal best so far. It's hard knowing I could of came in faster if I didn't have to dodge the half marathoners.
The drive back to Ohio was a nightmare. So on Sunday night a storm hit the south. I literally spent one day on I-30, which had about 3 inches of ice on it.  Then spent another day on I-40 for same reasons. Overall travel time: 3days.
Is it really that hard to keep salt on hand for emergencies? Putting sand on ice doesn't solve the problem! It literally looked like a war zone with all the wrecks scattered everywhere.

I just added a link to YouTube at the top.
Until next time.

Custom bike seat

So here is the custom bike seat. It is a prototype, so it's not the greatest looking seat. It does work though. So here are some pictures.

I am shaping it to make it more aerodynamic. The true test will be at the Army Marathon next week.

Bike maintenance

Last Monday I was asked to talk at Tree of Life HS in Columbus. I will admit that I was extremely nervous, but it was a great experience. I got to go through my old photos for the power point, and actually see Gods work or hand in my life.
Here is my basic training photo, I'm in the middle of the top row. Looking back, I can say I had a great 8 yrs.

So last week, I had a custom cushion made for my handcycle. Man, that makes it comfortable to ride. I actually took it to get some things fixed and put on. Then I'm going to trim up the cushion and hopefully be ready for the Army marathon. I've been throwing around the idea of starting a YouTube channel to show off my bike, how I maintain it, and some race footage.
