Update

I am really sorry I haven't been keeping everyone updated. I've been meaning to get on  but most of the time I get busy or forget.

Lets see here, its hard to remember everything. In April I had my last surgery which I am still recovering from. I've been waiting for my incision in my stomach to heal and its so close that it is frustrating. So I haven't been swimming or walking lately. I have been handcycling a lot though, I've biked the Los Angeles and San Diego marathons both in about 2  hours and the coast last week. Mondays I've been learning to golf, which I find quite fun. It is somewhat difficult from the wheelchair but I am still able to do it.

So some more exciting news. A couple of weeks ago I got my results for my medboard back, and no surprise am 100% disabled according to the Army. What that means is that I can start the retirement process and get out. So now I'm using up all my leave and come September I am medically retired from the military and starting a new chapter in our life. For those that are wondering we will be moving back to Ohio soon.

I will try to post more pictures on here. I'm really not a fan on how the pictures get posted on here.
Until next time, thanks for all the support.

Oh and also I added a picture page at the top.

I am not sure if you are going to remember me because our encounter was breief and It was a long bad day when we meet. I am having trouble remembering alot from that day except for the medical stuff I did and I can't begin to express how awesome it is to see you doing well. I was also able to find SGT S.M on the net and able to see he is doing well also.
Seeing and reading about you has allowed me to start the process of getting over a chapter in my life...knowing That all I have trained and trained for has paid off with the positive outcome whether I remember all of it or not.
I can only hope that you get everything you want out of life and live it to the fullest.

  3. Hi Jason -

It was an honor to be your bike escort at the Detroit Marathon yesterday. A few google searches landed me on your blog and I am beyond inspired by your progress just a year and a half from your accident. You had a great race and I hope you'll be back to Detroit. Sorry I missed pointing out a few potholes along the way and I'm thankful there were no mechanical issues for either of us :) I look forward to following your progress.
Best wishes to you and your wife.

    Thank you

    Erin
