Redeployment

Well we are back from our trip to Ft. Lewis. It was great to see everyone from church, my unit and family. First stop was the Battalion ball with 1-37 Field Artillery Regiment which the 18th Engineers fall under. As you can see in the pictures we had a great time.

So we went to the ball, a welcome home ceremony from the city of Lacey, uncasing of the colors ceremony, and then a memorial to the fallen. It was a very busy time but, It was so great to see all the guys. The trip was more emotional than I expected. I know for me and the rest of the guys it gave some closure and a chance to say thanks and goodbye the right way. And to show everyone that I'm still myself.

  1. Hi Jason,
I was thinking of you these past couple of days and wondering how things are going for you guys. I hope you are getting acclimated to life better and better each day. Don't forget you are a great hero and role model to lots of people and you have a huge support net out here. God bless!

  2. Gibson,
You may not remember me but I served as a team leader and squad leader in 2nd Plt, Eco 2-7 Cav, I was the brown guy with glasses; anyways enough of me, I've been following your recovery since I got to AFG back in Sep 12, I got to work with some guys from your unit. Brother you are right God has a plan for every one of us, you are an example for the rest of us to follow and I am very happy to see your motivation and determination; keep it up and hopefully one day we get to see each other once again.

I am not sure if you are going to remember me because our encounter was breief and It was a long bad day when we meet. I am having trouble remembering alot from that day except for the medical stuff I did and I can't begin to express how awesome it is to see you doing well. I was also able to find SGT S.M on the net and able to see he is doing well also.
Seeing and reading about you has allowed me to start the process of getting over a chapter in my life...knowing That all I have trained and trained for has paid off with the positive outcome whether I remember all of it or not.
I can only hope that you get everything you want out of life and live it to the fullest.
